Polo Ralph Lauren will be the newest tenant at The Factory in Long Island City, according to a published report.
The company is leasing a 19,105-square-foot space at 30-30 47th Ave., a 1.1-million-square-foot building that, in 1926, acted as a furniture warehouse for Macy’s, according to its website.
Polo Ralph Lauren signed the nine-year lease to house a photo studio for its products. The Factory features 12-foot ceilings, work-ready lofts, outdoor event space and a private roof deck. A lounge and food marketplace was also recently unveiled at the 10-story building.
Currently, the building houses Macy’s photo studios, construction company TEI Group and data analysis company Applied Research & Consulting.
The owners, Atlas Capital Group, Square Mile Capital Management and Invesco Real Estate, bought the property in 2014 and completely renovated it with “a design plan that celebrates an active and collaborative work environment,” according to a brochure.
The deal was first reported by the Commercial Observer.
