Power has been restored to over 1,300 Howard Beach residents after a 4KV (4,000 volt) feeder went out of service late on Sunday night, April 2, Con Edison reported.
The outage affected customers within the boundaries of 153rd Avenue to the north, 160th Avenue to the south, 86th Street to the east, and 78th Street to the west.
As crews worked to fix the damaged feeder, customers were switched to an alternate feeder that still had service. Once the original 4 kilovolt feeder was fully repaired, all customers were returned to that feeder with full service.
According to Con Edison, the outage — which affected a total of 1,329 customers — was fully taken care of and power was restored by 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night.
