Cops need the public’s help in tracking down a bandit who wore a scarf over his face while robbing a bank in Glendale on Monday morning.
Police said the caper took place just before 10:30 a.m. on May 15 inside the Capital One Bank located at 83-24 Woodhaven Blvd., near Myrtle Avenue.
According to law enforcement sources, the suspect — described as a white male in his 20s or 30s standing 6 feet tall and weighing 160 pounds with brown hair and wearing gray sweat pants and a black baseball cap — approached the counter and handed a demand note to the teller. The perpetrator wore a scarf over his face to conceal his identity.
Seconds later, authorities said, the employee handed $1,000 in cash to the suspect, who then fled the scene on foot eastbound on Myrtle Avenue.
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no injuries.
