Come to Sunnyside to check out a new weekend pop-up market in Bliss Plaza this summer.
Local vendors and businesses will come together for Pop Up Market Weekends in Bliss Plaza, located between 46th Street and Queens Boulevard, to sell food, homemade crafts, jewelry and gifts.
The vendors will vary from month to month. A few of the vendors that have been confirmed for the month of June include “Freshest Organic Cold Press” shop Cooldown Juice; Bliss Street Creamery, selling their organic, handcrafted ice cream; and Twister Cake Bakery, a mobile bakery known for their 400-year-old Transylvanian Twister Cakes.
In addition, other local businesses like Rehndell Masi Ceramics, a 3-D jewelry printing shop Just+Add Beer and ProudNYC are slated to be at the June pop-up. There will also be live music and dance performances each market day for attendees to enjoy while they browse the merchandise.
The Sunnyside Shines Business Improvement District is hosting this summer pop-up, which runs on one Saturday and Sunday per month starting on June 23. According to a report in the Sunnyside Post, Sunnyside Shines executive director Jaime-Faye Bean said that the market is part of a pilot program which will be used to gauge public interest in a marketplace at Bliss Plaza.
The market is set to be in Bliss Plaza on June 23 and 24, July 28 and 29 and August 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on all dates.
