A 62-year-old woman was struck dead by a pickup truck Saturday while crossing a busy Flushing street.
Edith Perez, of Kissena Boulevard, was hit by a white Chevrolet Silverado at around 2:30 p.m. while crossing Farrington Street near 31st Road.
Perez suffered severe head and torso injuries and was rushed to the New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation revealed that the pickup truck was travelling west on 31st Road and made a turn left on Farrington Street when it struck her at 31-07 Farrington Street.
The operator of the white Chevrolet Silverado remained on site. The investigation is still ongoing by the NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad.
There have been no arrests.
