Cops are looking for a man who recently attacked a worker at a Woodhaven laundromat and took off with her phone.
According to police, at 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 7, an unknown man approached a 50-year-old female employee at Family Laundry, located at 85-20 Jamaica Ave., and punched her in the face. The suspect proceeded to drag the victim into the bathroom, where he choked her into unconsciousness.
Law enforcement sources said the perpetrator then took the victim’s cellphone, which was sitting on the laundromat’s counter, and fled the scene on foot southbound on 86th Street.
Officers from the 102nd Precinct and EMS units responded to the incident. The victim suffered pain and bruising to her face and neck and was taken to Jamaica Hospital.
On Jan. 14, the NYPD released video footage of the perpetrator, who’s described as a black man standing 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black hooded coat, blue jeans and gray sneakers.
