Jan. 23, 2019 By Meghan Sackman
A man was attacked and robbed on a Corona Street last month as part of a violent robbery pattern that police say spans to Flushing, with one suspect sought.
The victim, 41, was near 112th Street and 39th Avenue on Dec. 27 when the attacker approached and pistol-whipped him at around 2:20 a.m., according to police.
The thief then pointed his gun at the victim at demanded, in Spanish, all of the victim’s property, eventually stealing the 41-year-old’s backpack and cellphone.
Just an hour later, the thief made his way to Flushing, where he used his gun to hit a 54-year-old man in Summit Court and Sanford Avenue and steal $400 in cash from him at around 3:20 a.m.
Two more attacks took place in the Flushing area on Dec. 29 and Dec. 31, where the thief struck two men over the head at around 5:30 a.m. and 11:45 p.m., respectively.
The thief stole an iPhone 5 belonging to the 28-year-old victim of the Dec. 29 attack, who was sent to the hospital to treat a face laceration.
The 47-year-old victim in the Dec. 31 incident saw a gun pointed to him after being struck in the head, but did not have any property stolen.
The suspect behind the four incidents is described as black, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, about 185 pounds, and between 18 to 24-years-old.
Anyone with information in regards to these incidents is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
