Man’s Heroics Stop Robbery, NYPD Looking for Suspect

The police are looking for a man in connection with an attempted robbery in Flushing earlier this month.

According to police at around 11 p.m. on Sunday, June 2nd, a 26-year-old woman was walking outside Macy’s at 136-50 Roosevelt Ave. with a 25-year-old male companion.

The two were then approached by the suspect who snatched the woman’s purse from her arms and fled westbound on Roosevelt Avenue.

The 25-year-old chased after the suspect and eventually recovered the purse during a brief struggle.

The suspect then fled the scene, sprinting eastward on Roosevelt Ave.

Police describe the suspect as being 20-25 years old, having a dark complexion, and being 5 feet 10 inches tall.

He was last seen wearing dark colored hooded sweatshirt, a white shirt, blue jeans, and red sneakers.
