Man Attempts to Rape Corona Resident After Forcing His Way Into Her Home

A man attempted to rape a 74-year-old woman in her own home in Corona in the early hours of Wednesday morning, police said.

At around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, the woman answered a knock on the door of her residence in the vicinity of 108 Street and 38 Avenue. The man pushed his way in, knocked her to the ground and hit her in the head with a bottle.

He then dragged her to her bedroom where he attempted to rape her, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic male with low-cut black hair. He is around 5 feet 5 inches in height, 170 pounds and was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt, gray pants and a baseball cap.
