Good news for JFK/Newark AirTrain commuters: the popular fees remain unchanged. While the single ride, 10 trip, and 30 day pass will increase in price, the cost of multi-trip rides for JFK/Newark workers and commuters will remain unchanged.
The cost for the extensive infrastructure improvements at the local airports will be offset somewhat by these increases that single ridership will provide. Many workers felt that the recent minimum wage increase would be offset by higher transportation costs. At this time, however, the Port Authority felt it was important to keep the extra pay in the commuters’ pocket.
