The NYPD’s 104th Precinct will host their second annual Back to School Backpack Giveaway on Tuesday, Sept. 1 for the Ridgewood community.
The precinct’s officers will hand out more than 200 backpacks with school supplies at the event, which will take place at 6402 Catalpa Ave. from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
104th officers donated their own money to purchase the backpacks, in partnership with community partners The Greater Ridgewood Youth Council, 104th Precinct Community Council, Maspeth Federal Savings and D’Angelo’s Sausage Truck.
The giveaway festival will also feature music, hot dogs and popcorn, drinks, as well as games for children and their families.
