The NYPD released a surveillance video over the weekend that shows two alleged burglars as they attempted to break into a Fresh Meadows home earlier this month.

The security footage shows a woman approaching the home, on 164th Street between 71st Avenue and 72nd Avenue near the Emerald Playground, and ringing the doorbell. Shortly afterward, a man approached the door and pulled a crowbar from a backpack he was wearing across his chest.

The suspects attempted to pry the door open but were unsuccessful. The couple took off in an unknown direction, police said. The incident was reported to the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows by a 39-year-old man who lives at the home. He was not home when the attempted burglary occurred, police said.

The NYPD released close-up photos of the suspects and described the woman as in her 30s, with a medium complexion, a “full-figured build,” with long black hair. She was last seen wearing a black Adidas baseball cap, a purple T-shirt and blue jeans.

The man is described as being in his 30s, with a medium complexion, a medium build, short black hair and a tattoo on his upper left arm. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a Puma logo on the front, a black T-shirt and yellow work gloves.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of the suspects is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 888-57-PISTA (74782).
