Two suspects sought for robbing Arverne man at gunpoint: NYPD

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating two individuals involved in an armed robbery that occurred in Arverne on Friday, Sept. 23. 

According to the NYPD, at approximately 1:20 a.m., a 39-year-old man was attempting to enter his residence outside of B 64th Street and Almeda Avenue when an unknown individual came from the side of his house, displayed a firearm, grabbed him and told him to “get inside.” 

The victim refused, starting a physical struggle, police said. Then, a second individual came from behind and took the victim’s Rolex watch, his wallet containing $1,700 in cash, two Apple iPhones and a backpack containing a MacBook, according to authorities.

The assailants fled the scene in a white Honda Accord with dark tinted windows and a South Carolina license plate, police said. The vehicle was last seen heading eastbound on Almeda Avenue.

The victim sustained minor injuries and refused medical attention. 

One of the suspects was described as male, with a dark complexion and thin build, who was approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing a white hooded sweater, black pants and white sneakers. 

The other was a thin build with a dark complexion, seen wearing a black and white hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white sneakers.
