A teenager was stabbed in broad daylight on Hillside Avenue near Jamaica Estates on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.
Police say the assault occurred around 1:15 p.m. on Oct. 26, when a 14-year-old boy was standing in front of a commercial building at 181-24 Hillside Ave.
An unidentified man approached the youngster and engaged the victim in a verbal dispute, according to authorities. The assailant allegedly pulled out an sharp object and proceeded to stab the teen in his abdomen before running off eastbound on Hillside Avenue, according to the NYPD. Police could not immediately identify what the sharp object was.
EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed the victim to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
The NYPD released a surveillance photo of the suspect on Oct. 26.
The suspect has a medium complexion and wore a blue long-sleeved shirt and blue pants and orange sneakers.
