A woman was roughed up and robbed at knifepoint on a quiet residential street in Woodhaven last week and police from the 102nd Precinct in Richmond Hill are looking for the perpetrator.

The 60-year-old victim was walking eastbound on 90th Road near 80th Street at around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13, when the suspect approached her from behind and threw her to the sidewalk, pulled out a knife, and forcibly removed the victim’s purse, police said. The assailant took off running westbound on 90th Road. The purse contained the woman’s cell phone and $100 in cash.

When she was pushed to the ground, the woman sustained an injury to her elbow, police said. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in stable condition.

On Tuesday, the NYPD released surveillance video of the mugging and described the suspect as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds with a light complexion and medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a light-colored facemask, gray pants, and black and white sneakers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
