In observance of Veterans Day, Senator John Liu announced his third annual Holiday Toy Drive for military families of the U.S. Army’s 77th Sustainment Brigade at Fort Totten in Bayside.
Liu’s office is partnering with Champions Mixed Martial Arts and Operation Child Rescue to collect unopened and unwrapped toys that will be donated to the families of soldiers, many of whom have a family member deployed during the holiday season.
“Our veterans make sacrifices great and small all year long, but it is especially difficult for their families during the holidays when they can’t spend time together,” Liu said. “This toy drive is our small way of saying thank you to our veteran families for their tremendous service to our nation. Let’s all chip in to show them our appreciation and spread the joy of the holiday season!”
Donations of unopened, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at Liu’s Community Office at 38-50 Bell Blvd., Suite C, Bayside, NY 11361 until Thursday, Dec. 16th. For more information, contact events@johnliusenate.com, or call 718-765-6675.
