GET TESTED AND VACCINATED

Before doing anything in person, get tested for COVID-19 and get vaccinated and boosted! Also, don’t forget to wear your mask indoors and socially distance wherever possible.

To slow the spread of COVID-19, the New York City Department of Health suggests getting tested often. Here is where you can find several places in Queens to get tested this weekend:

The United States Postal Service is also offering four free at-home test kits per address. Visit special.usps.com/testkits to learn how to order your test kits.

Stop Shop & Sit

The “Stop, Shop & Sit” is a pop-up that includes wellness that feeds the mind with tips about fashion and  identity, the body through clothing, skin care, natural teas and massages, and the soul through spoken word and more. Nu Alpha Phi Annual Thanksgiving Football 

You know the drill. It’s that time of the year again. Lace up those cleats, grab your pledge brother, and get ready for some good ole Thanksgiving camaraderie. Open to family and significant others. Springfield Blvd and 76th Ave. 10:30 p.m. – 1 p.m. 

An Afternoon of Chinese Theater (Flushing Town Hall) 

Presented by the Chinese American Arts Council and Flushing Town Hall, this performance includes two renowned and popular Chinese opera plays, The Story of Song Jiang and Yan Poxi and Farewell My Concubine, each with its unique storyline, music, vocal performance, mime, and dance. Join us for an afternoon of music, culture, and arts. The performance is free admission with limited general seating. World Cup Watch Party (Socceroof LIC)

We will be hosting a World Cup Watch Party and Soccer Tournament. Join 200+ soccer players & fans to come out and enjoy the weekend of World Cup soccer. Open Sew at the Castle (Bayside Historical Society)

Do you quilt, sew or embroider? Join other sewing enthusiasts in an afternoon of creating and socializing. Bring something you are currently working on and enjoy the camaraderie of community sewing! While this is not a sewing class, beginner seamstresses and quilters are most welcome and will find inspiration and guidance. There are a limited number of sewing machines available, but please try to bring your own if you have one. Also, do not feel obligated to sew on a machine — hand work (cross-stitch, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, etc.) is always welcome! 208 Totten Ave. 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Admission: $10 non-members ($8 BHS members)
