Permits have been filed for a 6-story, 20 residential unit mixed-use building on Jamaica Avenue in Jamaica.

The proposed development, which is slated to go up at 179-07 Jamaica Ave., would be approximately 63 feet tall and yield 15,363 square feet. Approximately 13,672 square feet of the development would be used for residential space and another 1,690 square feet would be commercial space.

Due to the fact that the average residential unit scope is 683 square feet, the 20 residential units will most likely be rentals.

Other planned features for the development include a cellar, 12 enclosed parking spaces and a 52-foot-long rear yard.

Demolition permits will not be needed during this project, as the site of the future development is currently a vacant lot. Wayne Clarke of WCG Solutions is listed as the architect of record on the permits that were filed. An estimated completion date for the development has not yet been announced.
