Firefighters battle house fire in Bayside, one suffers minor injury: FDNY

One firefighter was injured while battling a house fire on a quiet residential street near Crocheron Park in Bayside on Sunday afternoon.

The FDNY received a call just before 2:30 p.m. about a blaze in a private home at 46-24 217th St. Twelve units and 60 firefighters and EMS personnel were brought to the scene between 47th Avenue and 46th Avenue, a block south of Northern Boulevard.

One of the firefighters suffered a minor injury and was treated at the scene. The fire was brought under control at 3:12 p.m.

FDNY fire marshals are investigating and will determine the cause of the fire.
