Mr. Met, the beloved mascot of the New York Mets, has once again proven his popularity among baseball fans.

According to a recent study by Casino.ca, Mr. Met was voted the second-most popular mascot in Major League Baseball, earning an impressive 4.4-star rating out of five.

The study surveyed approximately 2,000 baseball fans, asking them to rank their feelings toward 26 MLB mascots. Mr. Met’s score was only slightly edged out by the Phillie Phanatic, who took the top spot with a 4.52-star rating.

But the accolades did not stop there. Mr. Met’s 4.4-star rating also secured him a spot as the eighth-most popular mascot across all major U.S. sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL and MLS.

Benny the Bull, the Chicago Bulls’ mascot, claimed the overall top spot with a score of 4.71 stars.

Mets fans, in particular, showed strong support for Mr. Met and mascots in general. The study revealed that 90% of Mets fans believe mascots enhance the game-day experience. When asked what they liked most about mascots, 60% of respondents highlighted the entertainment value, while 20% appreciated the morale boost they provide. Another 10% cited their cuteness and kid-friendly appeal as their favorite aspects.
