Police are on the hunt for two suspects who allegedly stole, operated and crashed a subway train in Briarwood last week.
According to law enforcement sources, the incident occurred just after midnight on Sept. 12 at the Briarwood subway station, which serves the E and F lines.
Police said the rail buffs, including one decked out in a shower cap and all-pink clothes, somehow gained entry into the unoccupied train and started operating it for a short while before it collided with another unoccupied train.
No injuries were reported, but the train sustained damage due to the collision.
The locomotive-loving duo fled the scene before officers from the 107th Precinct and Transit District 20 arrived after responding to a 911 call about the incident.
So far, no arrests have been made. On Tuesday, police released surveillance photos and video, as well as descriptions, of the suspects.
One suspect is described as a woman with a medium build and medium complexion. Police say she was last seen wearing a pink shower cap, a pink sleeveless shirt, pink shorts and carrying a pink handbag.
The other suspect is described as a man with a slim build and light complexion. He was last seen wearing a blue tank top, red shorts and carrying a black backpack.
The investigation remains ongoing.
