The Queens Night Market is set to wrap up its 2024 season with a Halloween-themed finale on Saturday, Oct. 26.

The event at Flushing Meadows Corona Park will feature trick-or-treating, family-friendly entertainment, live performances and its highly anticipated annual costume contests. This year, the excitement is elevated with an impressive lineup of prizes up for grabs.

Costumed attendees can compete for various standout prizes donated by local sponsors. These include a baseball signed by New York Mets designated hitter JD Martinez, VIP concert tickets from Forest Hills Stadium, two roundtrip flights from JetBlue and four Disney on Ice tickets courtesy of Citizens. Other prizes include $100 gift certificates to Sunglass Hut, Pandora, and Zara from Queens Center Mall, a one-night stay at the Hyatt Regency JFK, courtesy of Resorts World NYC, and family ticket packs to the Tianyu Lights Festival.

“This is always one of the most exciting nights of the year,” said Queens Night Market founder John Wang. “We’ve had nearly 100 contestants compete in the past, and we expect another great turnout this year. The energy of the crowd and the creativity of the costumes make it a night to remember.”

The festivities will be hosted by Katie Honan, a local advocate for Queens, and will feature several VIP guest judges to select the winners of the costume contests. The entertainment lineup includes sets from DJ Mark, the Manhattan Samba School and The Werners, a Filipino acoustic trio led by powerful vocals.

Reflecting on the 2024 season, Wang noted the challenges posed by unpredictable weather but expressed pride in maintaining the event’s accessibility through the $5/$6 price cap on food items. “It’s been a long season, and while the wacky weather certainly didn’t make things easy, we’re thrilled that we were able to keep our price cap intact,” Wang said. “This has always been a core part of our mission—making Queens Night Market an affordable experience for everyone.”

Looking ahead, Wang shared that plans are already in motion for 2025 and 2026. “We’re working on some exciting projects for the future, but most importantly, we’re committed to keeping the market NYC’s most affordable and diverse community space,” he added.

Since its inception in 2015, the Queens Night Market has welcomed more than three million visitors and has helped launch approximately 450 new businesses. The market showcases a diverse array of over 100 vendors representing more than 95 countries.

The Halloween finale on Oct. 26 will mark the close of the Queens Night Market’s 2024 season, but Wang hinted that the offseason will be filled with preparations for even bigger things to come.
