Astoria store sells $50K Powerball ticket; $29K Take 5 prize won in Jackson Heights

The New York Lottery announced today that a top-prize winning ticket for the Nov. 10 Take 5 Evening drawing was sold in Jackson Heights, with the prize amounting to $29,246.50. The winning ticket was purchased at Shahbaz Deli Inc., dba Shah’s Deli located at 74-03 37th Ave.

The Take 5 Evening draw selects numbers from a field of one through 39 and is broadcast twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Lottery prizes of any amount can be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.

Additionally, two third-prize-winning tickets were sold for the Nov. 9 Powerball drawing in Queens and the Bronx. Astoria’s Me-Me-Supermarket Inc. dba City Fresh Market, located at 21-15 Broadway, sold a $50,000 winning ticket.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., with numbers drawn from a field of one to 69, and the red Powerball selected from a field of one to 26.

The New York Lottery remains North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.8 billion to support New York State public schools in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
