The Queens Center and The Shops at Atlas Park partnered with local leaders and organizations to help brighten the holidays for families in need across the borough by distributing turkeys in the lead-up to Thanksgiving.
The Queens Center, located at 90-15 Queens Blvd. in Elmhurst, gave out 900 turkeys in partnership with seven elected officials and two organizations. Queens Borough President Donovan Richards distributed 200 of these turkeys, while Assembly Members Catalina Cruz and Steven Raga, State Senator Jessica Ramos and Council Members Francisco Moya, Shekar Krishnan and Lynn Schulman each distributed 100 turkeys. The local NYPD and the Boys and Girls Club of Queens both distributed 50 turkeys each.
At The Shops at Atlas Park, located at 8000 Cooper Ave. in Glendale, 200 turkeys were distributed in partnership with six elected officials and two local organizations. Borough President Richards distributed 40 turkeys. Council Members Joann Ariola and Robert Holden, State Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr. and Assembly Members Andrew Hevesi and Jenifer Rajkumar each gave away 25 turkeys each. Glendale’s Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church distributed another 25 turkeys, while ten more were donated to the staff at The Shops at Atlas Park.
