The Annual Chanukah Celebration, widely recognized as the largest event of its kind in New York City, is set to return to Cunningham Park in Fresh Meadows on Monday, Dec. 30.
This year’s gathering is anticipated to be the biggest and most vibrant yet promising an unforgettable evening filled with music, entertainment, and community spirit.
The event, titled “Light Up the Night,” will kick off with a grand menorah lighting ceremony at 6:45 p.m. International singing sensation Yoni Z will headline the event with a live concert that is suitable for audiences of all ages. The celebration will also feature a fireworks show and an opportunity to win grand prizes, including a Meta Quest 3S, a Segway, and AirPods Pro 2.
Last year’s celebration drew over 3,000 attendees, cementing “Light Up the Night” as a cherished tradition and a growing fixture in Queens. In addition to serving as a beacon for Jewish pride, the event exemplifies the strength of bonds within the community and highlights the ability to overcome challenges. With its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, it continues to inspire hope and unity across diverse groups.
Cunningham Park, located at 196-10 Union Turnpike, will be transformed into a festive hub for families and individuals alike. With free admission, parking, and traditional treats like donuts available to attendees, the event offers a joyful and accessible experience for everyone. Organizers are working in collaboration with local organizations, cultural institutions, and schools, with support from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the City Council.
