Housing lottery launches for 60 units at Trylon Tower in Rego Park, rent starts at $828

New York City has launched a housing lottery for 60 units at Trylon Tower, a 16-story residential development in Rego Park.

Located at 98-81 Queens Blvd., Trylon Tower features 170 residential units, with 110 offered at market rate. Of the 60 remaining units, 17 have been designated for individuals earning 40% of the area median income, with an asset cap of $62,120, another 19 for people earning 60% of the area median income, with an asset limit of $93,180, and seven for those earning 90% of the area median income, with an asset cap of $139,770.

For the 17 units available to those earning 40% of the area median income, the breakdown is as follows:

One-bedrooms: Fifteen one-bedroom units are available for up to three residents, with a monthly rent of $828. Household income must range from $33,395 to $55,920.

Two-bedrooms: Two two-bedroom units, available for households of up to five, have a monthly rent of $967. Eligible households must have an income between $39,875 and $67,080.

For the 19 units set aside at 60% of the area median income, here is the breakdown:

One-bedrooms: Eighteen one-bedroom units are offered for households of up to three, with a monthly rent of $1,328. Combined annual income must range from $50,538 to $83,880.

Two-bedrooms: There is one two-bedroom unit, available for up to five residents, with a monthly rent of $1,567. Households must have a combined annual income between $60,446 and $100,620.

The last seven units, set aside at 90% of the area median income, are broken down as such:

Two-bedrooms: Six units are two-bedrooms, available for up to five residents, with a monthly rent of $2,468. Households must have a combined annual income between $91,338 and $150,930.

Three-bedrooms: The last three-bedroom unit is available for households of up to seven people, with a monthly rent of $2,827. The household income must range from $105,360 to $173,340.

Amenities available within each unit for residents include washers, dryers, dishwashers, high-end and energy-efficient kitchen appliances, high-end countertops and finishes, air-conditioning, charging outlets with USB ports, smart controls for heating and cooling, high-speed internet, cable or satellite television, online options for leasing, paying rent and making maintenance requests and an intercommunication device. Tenants will be responsible electricity, including stove and heating. Hot water is included in the rent.

Other amenities throughout Trylon Tower that residents can take advantage of include garages that provide covered parking and feature electric car charging stations, a shared laundry room, common area WiFi, a gymnasium, a recreation room, a business center, an outdoor rooftop terrace, green space, storage, package lockers, an elevator, an accessible entrance, security cameras, a security guard, concierge, a doorman and a virtual doorman.

Trylon Tower is smoke-free and pet-friendly. The building also features a dog washing station, helping residents keep their furry little friends clean.

The building was designed by Gerald J. Caliendo Architect. RJ Capital Holdings ended up developing Trylon Tower.

Those who intend to apply for housing at Trylon Tower must meet the housing and income size requirements. New York City residents who apply will receive a general preference for the units. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by Jan. 27. Qualified applicants must meet additional selection criteria.

Duplicate applications are not allowed. Only one can be sent per lottery, either online or by mailing a paper application. Those who submit more than one application could be disqualified.
