A new Mexican restaurant, El Rinconcito De Los Sabores #5, is set to open in Kew Gardens tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 125-02 84th Rd., taking over the space formerly occupied by Loves Kitchen.
Owner Lorena Alfr said that Kew Gardens locals can expect to have a taste of Mexico close to home. “We sell tacos, birria, quesadillas, burritos, and platters of chicken, enchiladas, chilaquiles… we have a lot.”
Alfr said she is excited about tomorrow’s grand opening and hopes locals will receive the restaurant well. El Rinconito De Los Sabores #5 is fast casual, emphasizing made-to-order takeout. Alfr said she saw a lack of Mexican food in the area and wanted to introduce it to the community. “I saw there’s no real Mexican food in the area. Many people said they were waiting for Mexican food in the area. I saw other places, a bar, Italian [restaurant], a couple of other kinds of restaurants,” she said.
Other menu offerings include freshly made Aguas frescas, light juices made from fruits. Alfr added that there are many flavors to choose from, including watermelon, pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and soursop.
El Rinconcito De Los Sabores #5 is part of a chain of restaurants with different individual owners located throughout Queens. Other locations include El Rinconcito De Los Sabores in Jamaica at 139-33 89th Ave, El Rinconcito De Los Sabores #2 in South Richmond Hill, 31-07 Liberty Ave, El Rinconcito De Los Sabores #3 in Flushing-15401 Union Tpke, and El Rinconcito #4 in Jamaica at 236-05 Braddock Ave, Jamaica.
