Visitors to the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing can experience a colorful winter wonderland through “Lektrik: A Festival of Lights,” a large-scale light installation running now through March 2025.

The event, located at the garden at 43-50 Main St., features over 100 illuminated lamp scenes created by 150 artisans using 120 tons of steel and 150,000 feet of silk.

The festival’s “Winterland” theme takes visitors through snowy landscapes, ice castles, and winter forests, offering a magical evening experience. Guests of all ages can enjoy additional attractions, including acrobatic shows, live music, food vendors, and interactive activities.

Lektrik operates Wednesday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets are available on the Fever platform, with Queens Botanical Garden members receiving a 15% discount.

This light festival is part of a global series, with Lektrik installations also appearing in cities across North and South America, such as Miami and São Paulo. Each location offers a distinct theme tailored to its unique environment.

The Queens Botanical Garden, originally established as part of the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair, spans 39 acres and serves as a vital green space for Queens residents. Having evolved from the Gardens on Parade exhibit, the garden officially opened in 1946 and moved to its current location in 1961.
