Spectrum, the telecommunications provider, has announced it is now accepting applications for its Spectrum Scholars program, a scholarship and professional development initiative for college students with financial need in the tri-state area.

As part of the program, 15 eligible juniors will each receive a $20,000 scholarship to support their education. Spectrum made the announcement on Tuesday, Jan. 28, as it continues its commitment to fostering academic and professional growth among students.

Eligible rising college juniors can apply now through April 4, and winners will be announced this summer. Queens and New York City residents can apply for the scholarship if they reside within 50 miles of the Charter corporate office in Stamford, CT. Other eligible offices include Charlotte, NC; St. Louis, MO; Denver, CO; and Austin, TX.

Additional eligibility requirements include a rising college junior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree and graduating between May 2027 and August 2027. Students must also demonstrate financial need, be authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for employer sponsorship, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. Applicants must be able to participate and complete all program requirements.

Furthermore, applicants applying within a 50-mile radius of the Stamford, CT office must be majoring in one of the following majors of study: business administration, communication design, communications, government affairs, human resources, mass communications, media studies, marketing, and public relations

Each of the 15 students selected for the 2025-2026 class will receive a scholarship between their junior and senior years of college. Scholarship recipients will also participate in a two-year professional development program that includes being paired with a Spectrum mentor and a fully paid 10-week summer internship with Spectrum.

Paul Marchand, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, said that Spectrum Scholars’ impact is beyond a scholarship program.  “From getting paired with an employee mentor to a paid internship with Spectrum, this comprehensive program offers real-world learning experiences, professional development, and unique opportunities for career exploration.”
