The Queens Botanical Garden (QBG) is celebrating Earth Day with its annual Climate Arts Festival on Saturday, April 26.

The event at 43-50 Main St. in Flushing, will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring activities, performances, and tours on the climate crisis, including exploring creative ways to combat the crisis through hands-on activities. The environmentally-friendly festival is the event’s fourth iteration since the garden held its first one in 2021.

QBG has been hosting a range of events and activities throughout April for Earth Month to raise awareness and encourage residents to make changes to support our environment. From farming and compost community volunteer days and a compost site tour, the garden has been spreading awareness on developing small habits to make a big difference in the environment.  Their latest event provides families with a fun way to learn how to make our planet thrive, celebrate Earth Month, and take action to protect the planet.

The festival will also feature groups and organizations that will be tabling the event that are working on environmental issues, as well as local businesses at the vendors fair that will be selling food and drink, artwork, and other items. Musical performances at the festival include locally based artists and performers, such as Forest Hills-based Musiquita, with a performance of English and Spanish family music, Samba Reggae Parade with Fogo Azul, and reggae and dub set by DJ Tommy Sparks. Broken Box Mime Theatre will also make an appearance with a wordless story-telling experience of nature and climate themes via their show, Destination: Nature.
