The prolific robber who robbed cash from a dozen Queens businesses is facing some serious time behind bars.
Khalif House, the Hempstead man who robbed 40 stores across Queens and Long Island at knifepoint between February 2015 and June 2016, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, Dec. 20, to an indictment charging him with conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York, House admitted his role in all of the robberies in which he held up establishments including Carvel, 7-Eleven, Subway and Dunkin Donuts across Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. House made off with over $18,700 during his crime spree.
Here are the locations House robbed in Queens:
- Crown Fried Chicken located at 145-72 Brewer Blvd., in Springfield Gardens;
- Subway located at 271-06 Union Tpke., in New Hyde Park;
- Subway located at 219-25 North Conduit Ave., in Laurelton;
- Subway located at 217-06 Merrick Blvd., in Springfield Gardens;
- Carvel located at 103-21 Metropolitan Ave., in Forest Hills;
- Dunkin Donuts located at 146-36 45th Ave., in Flushing;
- Dunkin Donuts located at 163-02 Cross Bay Blvd., in Howard Beach;
- Subway located at 205-12 Northern Blvd., in Bayside;
- Subway located at 64-29 108th St., in Forest Hills;
- Subway located at 61-13 Springfield Blvd., in Oakland Gardens;
- Subway located at 233 Beach 20th St., in Far Rockaway; and
- His failed attempt at robbing the Dollar Tree store in Floral Park.
In nearly every robbery, House robbed the stores wearing mismatched gloves and something covering his face while brandishing a knife. During one of the capers, he chased down an employee who was trying to escape. In another instance, House used his knife to cut an employee who tried to disarm him.
House was eventually caught on June 8, inside of a stranger’s van in Floral Park after attempting to rob the Dollar Tree store located at 132-23 14th St. Cops found House in the van with — among other things — mismatched gloves.
“The defendant engaged in a widespread and dangerous pattern of knifepoint commercial robberies, which terrorized the communities and jeopardized the safety of the employees of more than three dozen local businesses,” said Robert L. Capers, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York. “As a result of the diligent work and collaboration of federal and local law enforcement authorities, the defendant will now be held accountable for his actions.”
House faces a maximum of 20 years in federal prison.
