Brazen burglar busts into a Ridgewood apartment and gets away with cash & jewelry

Cops released video on Wednesday night of a suspected burglar who stole valuables from a Ridgewood apartment earlier in the week.

Police said the break-in occurred sometime on April 30 at an apartment house in the vicinity of Hancock Street and Cypress Avenue.

According to law enforcement sources, the crook forced opened the home’s front door and made his way into a third-floor apartment. Upon entering the unit, he stole $7,000 in cash along with a gold ring and gold chain.

The burglary was later reported to the 104th Precinct. During their investigation, detectives obtained security camera footage of the suspect walking near the apartment house.

Police described the perpetrator as a black man who wore a dark, 3/4-length jacket and a gray knitted cap.
