District 26 recognizes retiring teachers

It was a night of endings and beginnings in School District 26 last Thursday as the school board honored both retirees and staff who had gained tenure at its monthly meeting at MS 74 in Bayside.

At a party for about 10 retirees prior to the meeting, Superintendent Claire McIntee said District 26, which consistently ranks the highest in the city on reading and math test scores, was only as good as its staff.
