Rahoul Gupta ran around smiling and giggling like any other 6-year-old as he played with his 1-year-old sister, but he was lucky to be alive after a freak car accident caused a No Standing sign to fly into the air and come down on his head like a machete.
While on his way to kindergarten at PS 133 from their Bellerose apartment on May 23, Rahoul, his mother Rajni Gupta and sister stopped at the corner of 90th Avenue and 247th Street. A 1999 Green Mercury Tracer heading west on 90th Avenue collided with a 1982 Maroon Toyota Cressida, which was heading south on 247th Street as the family stood at the intersection.
