I hope that you had many treats and no tricks on Halloween.
I spent two days being the Good Witch from the East.
First there were pictures by Mary Ellen Rama at the empty store in Whitepoint Shopping Center which was decorated for Halloween, and Rebecca Rama was filling up the trick-or-treat bags, with everything being efficiently done by husband Tom, niece Colleen Freehill , and her friend Amanda Lofaro.
I was very proud of the wonderful way the children conducted themselves during Halloween. The costumes were great, but more important the young children did come with an adult and were courteous.
Bob Cascarino looked great in his Lion King outfit, Dolfina in her good fairy outfit and son Franco as a forest tree. Franco just loves his class in the Montessori School.
A very happy 40th birthday to Tina Manesis. She said she is proud of her age; she looks about half of it.
The College Point Road Runners held their sixth annual Halloween Party at the Famee Furlane Clubhouse. Everyone came in costume and they were great. I did have competition from two other witches but they didn't have my experience. We did miss Mary and Leo Nicholas but they had a granddaughter's birthday to celebrate.
The North Flushing/College Point Senior Club had a Halloween party and I had wanted to attend to take some pictures of the seniors dressed in costume, but I was told it was a private party.
Director of Community Affairs Betty Letterese brought Dr. Charles Morgan as the special guest of the Women's Fellowship. He was quite informative on problems of the eye and answered questions from the group.

The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens will be giving flu shots at the Jackson Heights Family Health Center, 73-15 Northern Blvd. (phone 424-2788) Tuesday, Nov. 14 and Thursday, Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., 65 and older.
Community Board 7 will hold a dinner meeting starting at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Cascarino's Restaurant, 14-60 College Point Blvd. Cash bar with hors d'oeuvres, 7 p.m. dinner, including appetizers. Cost $35 per person.

A speedy recovery to Mario Viscovich who was hit by a car while riding his scooter. Since we are now on standard time, it gets darker earlier; it's never a good idea to ride bicycles or scooters in the street when it gets dark.

At the Whitestone Lanes, Nov. 20, the sequence of NBC's “Third Watch” which was filmed at the Lanes will be shown at 10 p.m. The fabulous bowling went on as usual with Josephine Lisi bowled 268, Betty Bergold bowled 220. Of course along with her high bowling score, Betty was celebrating her new grandson, Jonathan Reese Bergold, 7 lbs. 9 ozs, born Sept. 29. Betty can't wait to teach him to bowl. Patti McCarthy, 203
