Welcome to the Point. The Point being College Point.
It sure has been exciting watching the Olympics from Salt Lake City, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show at Madison Square Garden and the celebration of the Lunar Year of the Horse 4700.
Speedy recovery to Charlie McCallan, Lucie Shannon and Peter Simonelli.
Condolences to the families of Lillian Lombardi, Eugene Brooks and Princess Margaret.
Congratulations and blessings to Kayla Marie.
Congratulations to Patti McCarthy who bowled 201 at Whitestone Bowling Lanes.
There was no greater tribute as when the search and rescue dogs from the World Trade Center appeared at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show with their handlers. There was a standing ovation for the K-9 teams aiding searches at the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. The Westminster Kennel Club and USA Channel presented them with a check for $275,000.

SABINA SAYS — It was nice that winter was on the mild side but it doesn’t make you appreciate spring as much as you should. In fact, the Easter bunnies can’t wait to deliver their Easter eggs, although they keep looking at the calendar and know they shouldn’t leave their bunny hutches. I certainly hope that Valentine’s Day was extra special for each and everyone of you. Happy 71st anniversary to Mom and Dad in heaven.
