COLLEGE POINT – A College Point woman was arrested Sunday evening after she allegedly shot a man in the jaw, police said.
Tina Soulikas, 35, of 121-12 Sixth Ave., was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly shooting a 20-year-old man she knows, police said. The incident took place Saturday at 3:15 p.m. in front of 119-05 18th Ave.
The victim was treated and released from New York Hospital Medical Center in Flushing, police said.
Briarwood woman bound by two attackers
BRIARWOOD – A woman was pushed into her apartment and tied up by two men as they robbed her just after midnight Sunday, police said.
The woman, who lives on 84th Drive in Briarwood, told police two men followed her into the elevator, and exited with her at her floor. The men shoved her into her apartment and bound her while they ransacked the apartment, making off with a unknown amount of her property, police said.
Armed men force Auburndale woman into her apartment
AUBURNDALE – A 26-year-old woman was shoved into her apartment by four armed robbers last week.
The woman was leaving her 35th Avenue apartment at 8:30 a.m. July 30 when she was pushed by the men, who were armed with handguns, police said.
Woman slashed during dispute with man in S. Jamaica
SOUTH JAMAICA – A 25-year-old woman was slashed on the arms and the neck last Thursday afternoon as a result of a dispute with a man she knows, police said.
The incident occurred in front of the New Seed Revelation Baptist Church at 114-50 Sutphin Blvd. at about 4:15 p.m., police said. The woman, whose name was not released, was injured by a 53-year-old male acquaintance who fled, police said. She was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital in stable condition.
No arrests had been made, and the investigation was continuing.
Man robs Jamaica bank, escapes with cash
JAMAICA – A man robbed the Chase Bank in Jamaica Tuesday afternoon and made off with an unknown amount of money, police said.
The man entered the bank at 161-10 Jamaica Ave. at 2:15 p.m. and passed the teller a note demanding money, they said.
There were no injuries and no arrests, and police were continuing the investigation.
Hollis boy, 13, hurt critically while riding his bicycle
HOLLIS – A 13-year-old boy was in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bicycle Monday afternoon, police said.
The boy, whose name was not released, was hit at the intersection of Francis Lewis Boulevard and Hollis Avenue at about 1:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the vehicle, an 18-year-old woman, remained on the scene, but she was not arrested, and no summons were issued, police said. The investigation was continuing.
Forest Hills bank robber gets away with cash to ‘dye’ for
FOREST HILLS – A man claiming to have an explosive device robbed a Greenpoint Savings bank at 108-36 Queens Blvd. Friday afternoon, police said.
A white man in his 30s walked into the bank at about 2 p.m., announced he had a bomb and demanded money, police said. He got away with an unknown amount, but as he fled a dye pack hidden with the cash exploded at the door of the bank.
No arrests have been made and the investigation was continuing.
Man shot near Queens Plaza during argument with assailant
QUEENS PLAZA – A man was shot once in the hip in front of a Queens Plaza nightclub last Thursday morning.
The man, 57, was arguing with an unidentified man in front of Club Scandals at 24-03 Queens Plaza at 3:11 a.m. when he was shot. The shooter fled and the victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in stable condition, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation was continuing.
Paramedic hit by driver in Corona
CORONA – An emergency medical service worker was hit by a car early Tuesday morning as he was helping an elderly woman into an ambulance, police said.
Wolfd Louissaint, 23, was responding to a call at 112-22 37th Ave. at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was struck from behind, police said. His leg was crushed and he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center in serious condition.
The driver of the car, Jose Lopez, 33, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
Two arrested in connection with July Elmhurst robbery
ELMHURST – Two men were arrested Friday for allegedly robbing a family in Elmhurst last week of about $4,000 worth of cash and jewelry, police said.
Carlos Vargas, 21, and Ramon Nunez, 19, both of 100-12 39th Ave., were charged with robbery, kidnapping, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with crimes committed on July 31.
Police said the two men, with two others, approached a 48-year-old woman on her way home and forced her into a van.
One of the men allegedly held her in the van while the other three forced their way into her apartment and tied up her family, police said.
No injuries were reported, and the investigation was continuing.
Police charge suspect in E. Elmhurst rape
EAST ELMHURST – A 42-year-old man was arrested Saturday night on charges he raped a 42-year-old woman that night, police said.
Luis Chagcha, who has no known address, was accused of raping a woman he knows near 102nd Street in East Elmhurst, police said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center for evaluation. Police were unsure of the relationship between the two.
Man found dead in Forest hills fire
FOREST HILLS – A 50-year-old man was killed when a kitchen fire broke out in an apartment at 66-36 Yellowstone Blvd. Tuesday, police said.
When emergency services arrived at about 10 p.m., they pronounced the man, who was not identified, dead at the scene, police said. No other injuries were reported and the medical examiner was to determine the cause of death.
Unknown man found dead Friday on Woodside street
WOODSIDE – An unidentified man was found dead on a Woodside street corner just after midnight Friday, police said.
The man was discovered at the corner of 72nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue at 12:15 a.m.
The medical examiner was to determine the cause of death, and the police investigation was continuing.
