Junior Achievement of New York (JANY), a group that introduces students to business and economics, runs programs at more than 45 schools in New York City, witnessing the work of dozens of teachers and school administrators.
But late last month, during an awards dinner at the World Financial Center, it singled out one: Bronx Leadership Academy guidance counselor Neyda Martinez, who has run JANY programs at her school for five years and has turned on hundreds of students to college and promising careers.
