Flushing Man Convicted Of Murder And Assault On Woodside Dancers

A Flushing man has been convicted in the fatal stabbing of an exotic dancer and the slashing of her roommate in their Woodside apartment in March 2003.
The defendant has been identified as Aaron Gutierrez, 27, of 65-70 162nd Street in Flushing. He was convicted following a two and one-half week jury trial of murder in the second degree, attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
A jury of six women and six men deliberated six hours over two days before returning a verdict of guilty before Queens Supreme Court Justice Sheridan S. Roman who set sentencing for July 26.
The defendant faces up to 50 years to life in prison.
Brown said that, according to trial testimony, on March 13, 2003, in the victims’ basement apartment located at 41-31 60th Street in Woodside, the defendant intentionally caused the death of Marly Ambrosini, 29, a construction worker who also worked as a dancer, by intentionally stabbing her multiple times with a knife in her chest, back and neck and mortally wounding her and also attempted to intentionally cause the death of Hilauricea Valoto Biz, 35, a dancer, by slashing her several times with a knife across her throat, left wrist and left shoulder, causing her serious injuries and permanent scarring.
The defendant was apprehended on the day of the crime when the surviving victim ran screaming in fear out of the apartment to neighbors who immediately phoned 911 to report the incident. A bent and bloody six-inch steak knife with a serrated edge was recovered from the apartment.
