‘Comfort cart' for children's hospital

A partnership between Henry Schein, Inc., a provider of healthcare products and services, and Schneider Children's Hospital has created the &#8220comfort cart” to benefit the parents and siblings of the hospital's patients.
Michle Neuhaus, Director of Child Life and Education Services, said that carts include health and beauty items, toys and &#8220anything that's going to alleviate stress for them.”
&#8220It really does a lot to lift spirits here and to provide just the basic comforts of home,” she said.
During the unveiling of the new cart, which took place on Friday, August 11, Stanley Bergman, the Chairman and CEO of Henry Schein, said that he was excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with the hospital. He described the comfort cart as &#8220making a small difference in a big way.”
Dr. Fred Bierman, the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, also expressed his gratitude for the new comfort cart.
&#8220It's the simple things that make a tremendous difference,” he said. &#8220This effort by Henry Schein, Inc. and the individuals who are responsible for it are part of our assurance to our parents of our patients that tomorrow is going to be the way we planned it to be; it's just going to be delayed for a short period of time.”
