Saturdays and Sundays through October 29 take part in The Amazing Maize Maze (Sponsored by Con Edison) from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get lost in a 3-acre interactive corn maze. The adventure begins with a &#8220stalk talk” to prepare you for the challenge of finding clues, solving puzzles, and making your way out of the maze. For more fun try Maze By Moonlight on Saturday, October 7, when the maze will be open until 9 p.m. Admission: Adults $7.00; children (ages 4-11) $4.00; children (ages 3 and under) are free. HALLOWEEN
The Queens County Farm Museum will be hosting a Halloween Haunted House. It will be open on October 28, 29 and 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is recommended for children between the ages of four and 12. Socrates Sculpture Park will hold a Halloween Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include costume making with the park's artists, palm readings, henna painting, workshops and many more. On Sunday, October 29, the Queens County Farm Museum will be hosting a Children’s Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Halloween fun for children of all ages. Youngsters are invited to wear their costumes! Enjoy traditional games, including sack races and trinkets-in-the-haystack, plus pony rides and a petting zoo. Professional character look-a-likes will visit to add to the fun. Craft vendors will display and sell fall items, food, country western music and dancing will make this event fun for people of all ages. Admission is $4 per person. EXHIBITS
Best of Friends: R. Buckmeister Fuller and Isamu Noguchi will be presented on Tuesday, October 3 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. See this extensive show that explores the influence of this famous friendship on Noguchi’s art. The New York Hall of Science will present Merlin’s Dragon Quest: Magic, Myth, and Science, each Saturday and Sunday in October. Kids and adults can explore Merlin’s quest in this interactive exhibit. Dora the Explorer Exhibit, for ages 2-6, is currently on display at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. Explore with Dora! The adventurous Latina heroine guides children and adults through her tropical world. Climb through the Pyramid and learn to count from 1 to 10 in English and Spanish. Slide from Boots's Tree house, play &#8220hide and seek” in the Rainforest, help Diego care for rainforest animals, build a bridge over Crocodile Lake and join the fiesta at Dora's House. At the end of your adventure, sing the &#8220We Did It!” song with Dora and Boots. All this as adults learn how their children learn. The Little West Side Exhibit, for ages 4 and younger is currently on display at the Children's Museum of Manhattan. Welcome to the Little West Side, where CMOM’s smallest visitors rule the town. Tell time at the clock tower, learn colors at the grocery store, “drive” the mail truck to the post office, build the city skyline, or relax with a good book. CMOM’s Little West Side gives children the opportunity to build literacy and math skills through every day situations.
