The ever-shifting colors of fall and brilliant lights of early winter provide the seasonal backdrop for the Rockaway Artists Alliance latest exhibition, entitled “Gifted 2006.”
The 17 artists represented bend creativity into many shapes and forms as they use watercolor, oil paint, acrylic, film, digital photography, stoneware, wood, wire and words to carve a picture of the world around them.
The result is a show of unusual vibrancy and variety, juried and selected from dozens of submitted works.
“Gifted” will feature a celebratory opening reception on Sunday, November 5 and many of the artists will be on hand. The show itself runs from November 4 through December 10 in the sTudio 6 gallery of the Rockaway Center for the Arts (RoCA) at Fort Tilden.
“I endeavor to capture a moment in time; a glance, an emotion, spirit expressing itself - I create a ‘mini-theatre’ through the lens,” said photographer Arianna Rose.
GIFTED 2006 artists include Heidi Wertz, Jessica Schulman, Gina Samson, Arianna Rose, Renee Radenberg, Ann Murray, Maryann McEvoy, Dennis Macrae, Larisa Lavina, Martha Killian, Mary Kelly, Bob Kaplan, Igor Gushschin, Dan Guarino, Wilda Gallagher, Mitra Dejkameh and Madeline Braisted.
The Rockaway Artists Alliance is also pleased to announce it is accepting works in all media up to December 8th for consideration for its next show “Where Flowers Bloom In Winter.”
