Two Holiday Oldies Spectacular Concerts

As the holiday season quickly approaches, Queens residents will get the chance to hear some of their favorite oldies songs that can't typically be heard on the radio airwaves any longer.
Friend Entertainment and JES Entertainment will present two special concerts in December and January, beginning with the 3rd annual Holiday Oldies Spectacular on Saturday, December 2 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will feature Earl Lewis and The Channels, Frankie Lymon's Teenagers, Cleveland Still and The Dubs, Terry Johnson's Flamingos, Freddy &#8220Boom Boom” Cannon, Kenny Vance and The Planotones and Johnny Maestro and The Brooklyn Bridge.
The Holiday Oldies Spectacular was started in response to the need to bring such music to the area, since few local radio stations play this type of music any more. Previous concert goers have expressed how much they love the show, saying that they can't readily hear oldies music.
The second show that Friend Entertainment, which has been bringing oldies shows to the New York area for the last 20 years, will be presenting in Queens is &#8220A Night with Kenny Vance & Johnny Maestro” on Saturday, January 6 at 7:30 p.m. These two men have been described as &#8220two of the most prolific musicians and writers of ‘oldies' music.” They will also be joined by their respective groups, Vance's The Planotones and Maestro's The Brooklyn Bridge.
This special performance will give concert goers the unique opportunity to ask the musicians questions. Both Vance and Maestro will participate in a question and answer session with the audience members. There will also be a meet and greet.
Both the 3rd Annual Holiday Oldies Spectacular and &#8220A Night with Kenny Vance & Johnny Maestro” will take place at the Colden Auditorium at Queens College, which is located at 65-30 Kissena Boulevard in Flushing. It was selected because of its easy accessibility from the Long Island Expressway and overall convenient location. Also, there is free parking at the venue.
If you have missed these shows in the past, you don't want to miss them this year. For tickets and more information, contact Friend Entertainment at 718-423-8394 seven days a week between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. More information can also be found by visiting www.friendentertainment.com.
