In the 110th Precinct, which covers Corona and Elmhurst, there were 1,891 incidents through Dec. 16, compared to 2,063 for the same period last year. In the 115th, which covers Jackson Heights, Corona and East Elmhurst, there were 1,861 incidents through Dec. 16, compared to 2,085 for the same duration of 2006.But though crime was down, Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly announced last week that the two precincts would receive an extra influx of officers through Operation Impact, a program that floods high-crime areas with new recruits from the police academy. The 110th and the 115th share a border along Roosevelt Avenue, which the NYPD has designated an impact zone.It was unclear how many of the 914 new recruits would be assigned to the 110th and the 115th. Police officials did not return phone calls or e-mails by press time Friday.The seven major crime categories police track are murder, rape, robbery, felony assault, burglary, grand larceny and grand larceny auto.The 110th had three reported murders as of Dec. 16, compared to six in 2006. But on Dec. 17, Adrena Valderradama, a 24-year-old bar dancer was killed in a shooting at a Corona night spot, bringing the number to four.Police in the 110th have made arrests in three of the four murders.The first confirmed murder happened early in the morning on April 21. Police responded to 80th Street and 41st Avenue where they found 24-year-old Luis Izquierdo shot three times.Police arrested 26-year-old East Elmhurst resident Webstar Almonor the next day on suspicion of murdering Izquierdo.On April 22, 22-year-old College Point resident David DeLeo was fatally shot once in the chest at Martense Avenue and 104th Street, police said.With the help of Palm Beach County sheriff's deputies, detectives from the 110th Precinct tracked down DeLeo's alleged shooter, 22-year-old Corona resident Andy Lopez, in West Palm Beach, Fl., on Oct. 9.On July 5, 23-year-old Pablo Collaguazo was stabbed to death on Hampton Street near 41st Avenue. Police arrested 41-year-old Elmhurst resident Rafael Camargo that afternoon.The 115th Precinct had four reported homicides through the second week of December 2007, compared to three for the same duration of 2006. However, the total shot up to six homicides by the end of December 2006. The murder of a man near 114th Street and Astoria Boulevard on Dec. 17 raised the 2007 tally to five.On Feb. 4, Robinson Lopez, 34, of Queens was attacked with a knife at about 4:38 a.m. near the intersection of 83rd Street and Roosevelt Avenue. Lopez died from his injuries.On March 28, 36-year-old William Lewis of East Elmhurst was shot and killed inside a building at Northern Boulevard and 103rd Street.Then, on April 15, Jackson Heights resident Chameka Miller, 18, was found shot dead in the hallway of her residence. Police were searching for a man wanted for questioning, but had made no arrests.On Sept. 9, at the corner of 89th Street and Roosevelt Avenue, 27-year-old Corona resident Caesar Romero was shot and killed. Police arrested 23-year-old Jackson Heights resident Gregorio Naxi two days later.The 110th Precinct had 43 reported rapes by Dec. 16, the same number reported through the second week of December 2006. Robberies were down 13 percent through Dec. 16, with 368 compared to 425 through the second week of December 2006. Felony assaults dropped 6.7 percent, to 209 through Dec. 16 compared with 224 for the same period last year. Burglaries remained the same, with 412 reported through the second week of December each year. Grand larceny dropped 3.7 percent, with 694 through Dec. 16, compared to 721 for the same period last year. Car thefts were down 30 percent, with 162 incidents reported through Dec. 16, compared to 232 during the same stretch of 2006.The 115th Precinct had 34 rapes through Dec. 16, compared to 35 by the second week of December 2006. Robberies in the 115th were down 19.8 percent, with 327 through Dec. 16, compared to 408 for the same period of 2006. Felony assaults were down 14.8 percent, with 253 through Dec. 16 as opposed to 297 through the second week of December the previous year. There were 387 burglaries through Dec. 16, a 5.6 percent drop from the 410 reported through the second week of December 2006. Grand larcenies were also down, with 594 reported through Dec. 16 compared to 641 during the same period of 2006. Grand larceny auto saw a drop, too, with 262 reported through Dec. 16 compared to 291 for the same period last year.Citywide, major crimes dropped 6.5 percent to near historic lows.
