The longstanding tension surrounding the change in direction of St. Paul Avenue in Pelham Bay, and the overall congestion problems at Pelham Bay Station, may finally be starting to turn the corner.
The change in direction of St. Paul Avenue in 2006 and the movement of traffic off Pelham Parkway feeding into Pelham Parkway South part of a comprehensive study of the Pelham Bay traffic pattern by the NYC Department of Transportation.
A DOT spokesperson confirmed that a study involving the NYC DOT and the New York State DOT is underway to figure out the best way to handle the flow of traffic in the Pelham Bay area and on nearby highways and parkways.
