The Advanced Hearing Center, located in the arcade level of Building Three at North Shore Towers, will host a Healthy Hearing Fair on Wednesday, May 7 in honor of Better Hearing Month.
The fair will begin at 11 a.m. and will take place at the American Legion, which is located at 730 Willis Avenue in Williston Park.
During the event, audiologists Dr. Amy Sapodin and Dr. Alison Hoffmann of the Advanced Hearing Center will debut “Passion Inteo,” which is the smaller hearing aid to come from Widex. It uses Integrated Signal Processing technology, comes in several colors, and “enhances sound quality while reducing background noise.”
Widex Northeast Regional Manager Tad Zelski will be at the fair to give a demonstration of “Passion Inteo.” He will also talk about the “Latest Advances in Hearing Devices.”
“Manufacturers are hoping that these devices will encourage baby boomers and consumers of all ages to be less apprehensive about hearing aids and eager to try them,” Sapodin and Hoffmann said.
Dr. Saul Modlin, a physician and Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery at Stony Brook University, will also talk about balance and inner ear problems, as well as sensorineural hearing loss.
Esther Goodcuff will share her story of overcoming hearing disability.
Hoffman will discuss how to protect yourself from hearing loss and identify it.
The Healthy Hearing Fair will include a luncheon and presentation by a panel of speakers.
There will be complimentary wax screenings, and appointments can be made for free hearing aid checks, hearing screenings, and ear wax removal.
The Advanced Hearing Center also has an office in Albertson.
