Overturned truck snarls LIE traffic

A tractor trailer overturned on the Long Island Expressway at Peck Avenue on Saturday morning, June 21, forcing lane closures in both directions. The truck struck a light pole while traveling east towards Francis Lewis Boulevard and overturned onto the center divider, spilling its load of construction debris onto the westbound lanes. There were no serious injuries reported, but traffic on the expressway was snarled for hours as the clean up was underway.
