Postal Service on Labor Day

Postal retail units will be closed and mail delivery curtailed on Monday, September 1 in observance of the Labor Day national holiday. Only Express Mail, which is delivered 365 days a year, will be delivered on Labor Day.
Select Post Offices in the New York metropolitan area are also adjusting retail hours on Friday, August 29 and Saturday, August 30 based on the traditional decrease in holiday weekend customer demand.
Consumers should check with their local Post Office for any adjustments to business hours. Normal postal retail operations and mail delivery service will resume on Tuesday, September 2.
Customers needing access to postal retail services in Brooklyn and Queens can always use the Automated Postal Center (24/7, 365 days a year) at the Cadman Plaza Post Office, located at 271 Cadman Plaza East in Brooklyn or the Strathmore Retail Station located at 1900 Northern Boulevard, Manhasset.
Automated Postal Centers are self-service kiosks that provide customers with access to the most frequently purchased postal products and services. Extensive postal information, including post office and alternate retail access locations, is always available online at usps.com.
