Grand/Petit Larcenies in Old, New Howard Beach

If you live in Old or New Howard Beach, be sure to lock your car doors —and leave nothing in sight after you’ve parked.
According to police, between August 11 and September 7, there have been 16 incidents of grand/petit larcenies in autos.
The suspect(s) are checking for unlocked car doors, at which point they proceed to remove various items, including, according to police, GPS systems, radios, a purse, parts, iPods, even sunglasses and radar detectors.
Most of the incidents have taken place between midnight and 8 a.m., cops say. Of the 16, eight have happened in New Howard, eight in Old.
