Bayside Doc expands family care

Dr. Robert A. Mittman usually tends to Asthma and Allergies among families at his office in Bayside, but every year he expands the meaning of “family care.”
Again this year, Mittman teamed up with Assemblymember Ann-Margaret Carrozza to collect toys for “Toys For Tots,” the charitable foundation of the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Carrozza also collected clothing. They also worked with the American Legion, Jewish War Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, to bring cheer to hospitalized veterans.
“The best part is that the toys are distributed locally,” the alms-gathering allergist observed, from amidst some of the record-number of donations left at his office at 38-21 Bell Boulevard. “People really came out this year - it’s touching, because there’s so much need,” he said.
